Hebrews 4: 16 - So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. (NLT)
This week I have been recovering from what I think is Covid (I haven’t taken a test). My quiet times haven’t been as “good” as usual (whatever good means). I have been waking up late, rushing through reading my Bible and drowsy through most of them. But today, I woke up feeling stronger. I put on worship music and began my usual quiet time routine. To my surprise, it was as though I had never left his presence. I believe the Holy Spirit dropped today’s verse into my spirit as a reminder.
Hebrews 4: 16 - So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most. (NLT)
We can always enter his throne room. He is unchanging. He remains faithful to us. The devil is a liar, he makes us think that we need to do something more than approach God to get him to come back to us. All we have to do is approach, draw near and he is there.
James 4:8 - Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.………(NKJV)
Our flesh is distorted and sinful. It sees things in ways that appear true but are only partially true or in some cases false.
1 Corinthians 13:12 - Now we see things imperfectly, like puzzling reflections in a mirror, but then we will see everything with perfect clarity. All that I know now is partial and incomplete, but then I will know everything completely, just as God now knows me completely. (NLT)
That is why we must hold on to the truth of God’s character and his word and not our feelings. We may feel like he isn’t with us but he is. Right there with us, all we have to do is call on him.
Psalm 145:18 - The LORD is close to all who call on him, yes, to all who call on him in truth. (NLT)
